Meet our talented actors!
Russ played by Jame D. Hopkin is a no-nonsense bomb-tech who knows he’s making a difference in the world. He sees himself as a mentor for his younger partner.
James began acting for the stage in high school after being asked, with no experience, to audition for the lead. After a being cast in the role, rehearsing it, and a successful opening night, a career path was set. Plays in high school, college, and amateur theatre quickly followed on its heels. The bulk of James’
training came by way of ‘performing’… all year round and year after year in a town called Rosebud (and later Chemainus). It was here that he became deeply entrenched in a resident company of actors, forming one of the few Theatrical Apprenticeship Training Programs in North America. He refined his acting and directing skills over time in lead roles for such productions as ‘Inspector Calls’, ‘Dial M for Murder’, ‘Gifts of the Magi’, ‘The Foreigner’, ‘Angel Street’ and ‘Cotton Patch Gospel’. Over twenty years and over thirty five productions later, James has successfully adapted his stage skills to a full time career in film and television. In the few years James has been pursuing this new avenue of acting, he has met with rapid success landing significant roles in over a half dozen television movies and appearances in two ongoing series (Fear Itself and Heartland). One of his latest projects had him nominated for the best Alberta Actor Award (Rosie) at the AMPIA celebrations of 2009.
